道奇以9：5贏球，在5戰3勝系列賽拿下首勝，有趣的是，賽後記者會上的焦點竟成了普伊格，因為他在比賽中被轉播鏡頭拍到，他在打擊時竟朝著球棒伸出舌頭，舔了一下後，露出不太美味的表情。
今天以3安打敲回5分打點的透納（Justin Turner），與普伊格一起出席記者會，刻意隔了一個座位，他對著普伊格說：「我要坐這裡，因為你可能會舔我。」克蕭隨後也被問到普伊格舔球棒的話題，而他笑說：「這看起來不太衛生。」
普伊格也解釋了舔球棒的緣由，他在第1局與投手纏鬥9球，在多次擊出界外球後，「我心想這是我的球棒，舔球棒後，下一球就敲出二壘安打，這很棒，所以我會繼續做一樣的事。」
普伊格此役不只一次因為舌頭引起話題，他在第7局敲出三壘安打，滑上三壘後，做出像是響尾蛇般的伸舌慶祝，他表示，「這就是我滑壘後的反射動作。」話才說完，普伊格轉向透納，現場再示範一次。
